Let me explain, in detail, the reasons why audiophiles are against the use of equalizers. Audiophiles like to maintain the sound signature of the HiFi setup Audiophiles don’t like to shape an audio with EQ Equalizers introduces noise into an audio signal And they will also do whatever it takes to get rid of any device that will reduce the audio quality. They spend thousands of dollars on audio cables, HiFi speakers and headphones, preamps, amps, DACs, and a whole lot more in an effort to get the best audio quality that is as close as possible to the original recording. Unlike many of us, audiophiles care so much about sound quality and getting the best audio experience when they are listening to music or any audio for that matter. However, some audiophiles use equalizers for room correction.Īudiophiles are a group of individuals who are passionate about high-fidelity sound reproduction. But using an EQ will alter the frequency of the audio. Also, audiophiles like to listen to an audio as close as possible to the original recording without any alteration. ![]() That’s because they believe equalizers degrade the audio signal and reduce its quality. In fact, most audiophiles are against using equalizers. And I even have a dedicated article on that subject which you can check out here.īut what do audiophiles think of equalizers? Do they use equalizers or not? After a few hours of research, here is what I found. There are many arguments on whether it’s a good idea to use an EQ or not. Using an equalizer for music listening purposes is something that always brings up endless discussions. One thing is for sure, if your family, your friend or your lover look like they are going to buy this unit, I beg you. that's right HALF PRICE ! ! ! (iwth free postage) Terribleįirst off if you do want to buy this unit and see for yourself, do a quick search on the worlds fav search engine and you can find this for half price. The noise, the crackle, the almost "dj mixer bit crushing sound effect" that accompanied the website I was playing. When it can to turning it on, there was a slight pop through the speakers, at this point I though nothing of it. The plastic buttons felt as if they were about to pop through the device, the sliders have no glide and felt as if they were "scratching" along the front facia. This unit not only looked flimsy, but felt it to! Now I don't expect a heavy weight champ coming out of the box, but a little meat is always good. And the sound quality is actually too rough. I wouldn't recommend this device to anyone if you want to look at it too. I see a very coarse block pattern display with some blocks appearing to be stuck together, electrically. It moved up and down to the beat of music and made no difference if I only open the low frequencies. The digital screen should actually display the different frequency volume strengths. The cabinet was also slightly crooked, so that the device stands on 3 instead of 4 legs. ![]() It blinds your view of the position of the sliders. There is no feeling when the sliders are on the 0 line. However, the exterior of this device is very average to bad. Connected to my 200 watt amplifier with ditto large tower speakers, it does its best. The EQ665 Equalizer is an equalizer that performs reasonably well in terms of sound.
